IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rea
Byers
November 21, 1942 – October 10, 2025
Rea Aruna Byers "Aruna" passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born on November 21, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland to Leon and Sylvia Nachman, Aruna lived a life marked by curiosity, creativity, and a boundless capacity for love.
From a young age, Aruna was drawn to the world of art. She expressed herself through color, form, and texture, but her greatest talent was how effortlessly she encouraged others to discover their own creativity. This natural gift for teaching later blossomed into her work as a spiritual life coach, where she offered guidance, compassion, and clarity to all who sought her support. Many will remember her as someone who could see the best in others long before they could see it in themselves.
Aruna's adventurous spirit took her across the globe. She traveled to Africa, Austria, Germany, Italy, including the ancient grounds of Pompeii, Switzerland, and Sweden. But it was Japan that captured her heart most deeply. She fell in love with its culture, its people, and its quiet sense of beauty and harmony. It became the place she and her beloved husband, Jack Ottero, chose to call home, a fitting reflection of the peace and wonder she carried within her.
Aruna is survived by her husband, Jack; her sons, Bryan Byers and Jamey Scott of California; her stepdaughter, Dana Ottero; her brothers, Harry Nachman and Steven Marc Nachman. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.
To all who knew her, Aruna was a source of warmth, wisdom, and joy. She was deeply loved, and her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture. Yet the light she shared continues to shine in the countless lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
