Richard Paul "Dickie" Ittner Sr.

(August 14, 1935 – November 28, 2025)

Richard Paul Ittner Sr., 90, of Lady Lake, FL, peacefully crossed over on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital.  Surrounded by his loving family and serenaded by the songs of Frank Sinatra, he left this world much the way he lived it—with steadiness, peace and grace.

Born in Chicopee, MA, on August 14, 1935, Richard was the son of Robert W. Ittner and Laura (Rivet) Ittner. Richard spent many years as a resident of South Hadley, MA, where he worked at Hampshire College and dedicated much of his time to helping others. For the past 15 years, he has enjoyed his retirement and golden years in the warmth of Lady Lake, FL.

Dickie was one of a kind. He was conservative, intelligent, considerate and generous. He rarely complained and was always grateful for his life. His humility and kindness was most memorable.

He was a great exemplar to his family and friends of how to live a good, humble, and honest life. He was always ready and willing to help those in need. He was an outstanding role model to say the least. He was a true handyman, ready for anything life presented to him, and always strived to be the best person he could be. You could find him flying the American flag every morning, enjoying a round of golf, and finding creative ways to fix anything that was broken.

He loved his family, his country and golfing in sunny Florida!

Dickie is welcomed on the other side by his parents; his sister, Joan; his brother, Bobby; along with many dear friends who have gone before him.

He is survived by a large and loving family including his brothers, Kenny and Carl; his children, Richard Jr., Alan, and Laurie; six grandchildren: Rich, Kimberly, Jessica, Samantha, Christopher, and Kay. He also leaves behind a generation of eight great-grandchildren: Raina, Kyler, Nathan, Noah, Aubree Alexis, Kali Jo, Lily, and Ashley.

There is no doubt that Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor "Dickie's" memory by extending an act of kindness in the name of Dad, Grandpa, Gpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, Friend or Brother. More importantly, simply remember his example and please be a good human to yourself and others by lending a helping hand when needed and supporting your loved ones.
