Obituary

Richard Michael "Mike" O'Fallon, originally from Westchester, Illinois, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Venice, Florida. Born to Jean and Richard O'Fallon, Mike lived a life defined by intelligence, independence, and a heart that was always a little bigger than he let on.
He was the proud father of three children – John, Amy, and Sara – who will forever remember being affectionately called "kiddo," no matter their age. He leaves behind six grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom learned early that Grandpa's gifts were memorable not just for their thoughtfulness but occasionally for their impressive size.
Mike built a long and varied career as a computer programmer and consultant, a field perfectly suited to his sharp, curious mind. He approached most problems with a yellow legal pad, a pen, and a determination to make things better—sometimes with brilliant precision, sometimes with wildly unnecessary complexity—but always with love.
A lifelong Bears and Cubs fan, he navigated decades of heartbreak with equal parts dry wit and stubborn optimism. He loved sports cars, dunked basketballs, played a strong game of tennis, and spent his last decade with his partner, Nancy Ax, sharing companionship, dinners at the Moose, laughter, and a warm community in Venice.
He is also survived by his cherished siblings: sister, Nancy, and his brother, Dave.
Mike had strong opinions—sometimes very strong—but always an open heart. His humor was quick, his love steady, and his presence unforgettable. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him and love him.
