Obituary

On August 15, 2025, Robert James Khoury, 83, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 28, 1942, Robert built a life rich in love, partnership, and friendship—woven with music, laughter, and a deep devotion to family. Intellectually curious, he graduated first in his class and established the sharp mind and tireless work ethic that would define him for decades to come.

At the age of 23, Robert began what would become a remarkable 40+ year working relationship with his brother Amin. His most notable professional achievement was as co-founder of B/E Aerospace, Inc., the leading manufacturer of aircraft passenger cabin interior products for the commercial and business jet markets. Robert played a vital role in shaping the company's success, integrating many acquisitions, improving operations, and refining what worked while repairing what didn't. Known for his strong relationships and steady leadership, he earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Though he dedicated decades to his work, no one embraced retirement with more joy and contentment than Robert!

A man of quiet gifts, Robert was self-taught at piano, banjo, harmonica and guitar, filling rooms with melodies that reflected his spirit. He found joy in life's simple pleasures—a round of golf, a plate of linguini and clams, and a large cup of coffee. Known for his quick wit and humor, he naturally drew others in. People admired him not only for his wisdom, often sought and always honest, but for his authenticity; he was refreshingly direct. He never judged others, cared little for background or status, and treated everyone with the same respect and kindness—seeing people for who they were, not where they came from. Yet, more than anything, Robert will be remembered for his adoration for his family, living by the words he often said with a warm smile: "anything for my girls."

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Madell and Charles Khoury; his beloved uncle, Edward Khoury; his sister, Charlene Dobron; and his brother, Richard Khoury. He is survived by his devoted wife and love of nearly five decades, Marta Khoury; his three daughters—Madell Khoury, Shameen Wrighton (Bush), and Bianca Khoury (Eric Rey); five cherished grandchildren; and his brother, Amin Khoury, to whom he was not just a sibling, but the loyal Robin to his Batman—a bond rooted in deep love, trust, and lifelong camaraderie.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—and in every melody, shared memory, and joyful moment his family carries forward.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 338 E Lyman Ave, Winter Park, on Monday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to All Saints Episcopal Church (in Winter Park), The Annie Appleseed Project, or a charity meaningful to you.
