Obituary

Sally May McClelland, 82, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 5, 1943, in Williamsville, New York, Sally was the daughter of Warren and Ruth Hacker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Dale Hacker her husband Ed McClelland; and g randdaughter Nicole Harmon (Greg & Kristen).

In the early 1970s, when the Buffalo Bills opened Rich Stadium, Sally and her first husband managed the food service for all concessions, including the private suites. A devoted fan, she remained loyal to the Bills throughout her life.

During the 1980s, she began a new career in the insurance industry. In a field largely dominated by men at the time, Sally broke barriers by becoming the first female President of the Life Underwriters Association for Pennsylvania—an achievement that reflected her determination, leadership, and trailblazing spirit.

After moving to The Villages in 1994, Sally dedicated over 15 years as a volunteer with the SHINE program, where she helped retirees navigate the complexities of Medicare. Her compassion and patience touched countless lives in her community.

Sally also cherished time spent at the beach. For more than 20 years, she gathered with family and friends each spring at Ponce Inlet, Florida, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

She is survived by her sons Christopher Harmon and Gregory (Kristen) Harmon; her sister Ruth (Judy) Krug; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of Sally's life will be held at a future date in The Villages, where family and friends will come together to honor her remarkable journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the ALS Association .

Sally will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com .
