Theresa Akins, also lovingly known as "Terry," 54, of St Petersburg, FL, passed away December 2, 2025, at Gulf Shore Care Center. Born and raised in St Petersburg, Terry graduated from Gibbs High School. She is predeceased by her father, Harry Prickett. She is survived by her daughters, Caitlin Newsome and Elizabeth Dillard; her son, Terrell Newsome; her sons-in-law, Tamareon Lewis and Jay Dillard;  her mother, Patricia Prickett; and her grandchildren, Tikyiah Chaniel, Hector Green Jr,  Naryiah Green, and Zamyiah Lewis.

Terry was a very independent, resourceful, and loving individual. She enjoyed arts and crafts, paint by numbers, coloring, and watching football and Nascar. She also loved video-chatting her granddaughter, Zamyiah, who she always looked forward to speaking with and checking in with every day.
