IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas F.
Van Dusen
March 7, 1942 – November 30, 2025
Thomas F. VanDusen, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025.
Thomas was born on March 7, 1942, in Galesburg, Illinois, where he was also raised. He was the beloved son of Glenn and Fern VanDusen, who preceded him in death.
On April 8, 1962, Thomas married the love of his life, Shirley J. VanDusen. Together they shared 63 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, family, and friendship.
Thomas was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an exceptionally proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked for many years as a food broker throughout the Quad Cities and Chicagoland area, where he formed lasting professional relationships and friendships.
After retiring, Thomas and Shirley made their home in The Villages, where he happily spent 22 years enjoying retirement. He loved golf, pickleball, and most of all, time spent with his many friends and family. Known for his warmth and easygoing nature, Thomas was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley VanDusen; his daughters Paula Sheppard (Mitch), Kathy Roche (Dan), and Jill VanDusen; and his grandchildren Nick Beavers (Courtney), Taylor Beavers (Lexie), Maggie Foley (Jason), and Tommy Roche. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Skylar Beavers and Baby Foley.
Thomas is also survived by his sister, Lois Miller. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bob Richardson and Bill VanDusen.
Above all else, Thomas cherished his family and was known as the best dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Thomas will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
