Wallace Howard Perkins, age 80 of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Dec. 8, 2025.
He was born on September 15, 1945 to Daniel Bradley Perkins Jr. and Oneida Hays Perkins. Howard grew up in Richland, Georgia and enlisted in the Navy Reserves at 17 years old and was trained as a Seabee. During two years of active duty he served in Rhode Island, Newfoundland, Camp Lejeune, and Guantanamo Bay. Yeoman 3rd Class Perkins proudly served the Navy with honor, earning a Good Conduct medal.
Upon completing active duty, Howard attended the University of West Georgia on the G.I. Bill majoring in accounting. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Science, Howard worked at Honeywell Aerospace in Florida, on the top secret reusable spacecraft guidance system, Minute Man 3. In 1975, he transitioned into the food processing industry, and an auditing career.
Howard loved to snow ski and cook, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Howard is survived by his wife Shelley, his two daughters, Melissa and Carolyn, his sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Nancy Jackson, one granddaughter, Sarah, and by a number of nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brother Daniel Bradley Perkins III.
Services will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on January 23, 2026 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in memory of Howard Perkins – https://t2t.org/
