, 78, of The Villages Florida, peacefully crossed over on Friday, November 28, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Rochester, NY, on May 3, 1947. He predeceased by his parents, William and Lorraine. He is survived by his long term companion, Deborah Tiesmeyer, for many years, including his 5 children,

and his wife Corrine, Josh

and his wife Tina, Rachael Blodgett and her husband Brian, and Joelle
Gurgel
and her companion Dan Verrioli.
He has a brother Wayne
Gurgel
and a sister Nancy MacDowell and her husband Michael. He has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also has grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren that he leaves behind.
William had a deep love for softball for many years and was a coach for the Bruins softball team in The Villages. He also played pickleball and as well as his love for golf. He played many courses over the years in The Villages He was very active in many sports and activities. He was also a member of The American Legion 347 in Lady Lake, Fl. He was retired from Xerox Corporation in Rochester NY after 37 years. There he made many friends.
There is no doubt that Bill, which is what he liked to be called, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at The Veteran's Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 PM on January 9, 2026 with lunch to follow at Arnold Palmer Country Club immediately following the service.
