Obituary

Orlanda Lou Bidner was born March 12, 1950, and passed away peacefully May 22, 2024 in Estero, Florida.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Orlanda was the daughter of Bettie Lou (Varner) and Francis Daniel Morrison. She was the third of five children and was raised in a loving family with lots of laughter. Born with a hole in her heart, Orlanda faced many health difficulties, but that didn't stop her from living life to the fullest. In her teen years, she enjoyed dancing at the iconic Valley Dale Ballroom, then continued her love of dancing anywhere she could move her feet to the music. She loved playing euchre with anyone who would play with her, but especially with family and with the ladies in her card club. She also enjoyed shopping and dining with her daughter and her lady friends. Christmas at Lazarus in downtown Columbus was her absolute favorite. Orlanda worked as a Closing Coordinator most of her career life for several top new construction builders in the Central Ohio area.

She raised three devoted children and one beloved stepson for which she is survived by: Betty Jean "Jeanne" (Boals) Drath of Estero, FL, Jeffrey "JJ" A. Boals, Jr. of Lancaster, OH, Jason A. Boals of Grove City, OH, and Michael "Mikey" Bidner of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by husband, John Bidner of Fort Myers, FL, four grandchildren who know her as Granny Lanny: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith, Issac Boals, Ciara Boals, and Mckenzie Boals, and two great-grandchildren, Jalen Smoot and Baby Girl Smoot, due in November 2024. Additionally, she is survived by her dear siblings Octa J (Morrison) Burgess of Gahanna, OH and Henry "Hank" S. Morrison of Mt. Gilead, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bettie, brother, Edwin "Eddie" L. H. Morrison, sister, Rhonda (Morrison) P. Lyday, and husbands, Jeffrey A Boals Sr. and John R. Hunt. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and several lifelong friends, all of whom she loved boldly.

Orlanda truly loved family; she led her life with love and never missed an opportunity to say "I love you" or "I love you to the moon and back." She was a strong and faithful woman who took great pride in her children and supported their dreams. She was delighted by her grandchildren and welcomed every opportunity to be with them. Her great grandson, Jalen, has been her most precious pride and joy. She leaves behind good friends and lasting relationships, a love of Ohio State Football, and many sentimental traditions to be carried on by her children.

The family will plan a Celebration of Orlanda's Life in Central Ohio at a later date. Those that feel moved to give, please consider contributing to Autism Speaks in her honor.
