Pamela Ann
Campen
October 28, 1941 – March 17, 2026
St. John XXIII Catholic Church
9:30 - 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Pamela Ann (Pam) Keith Campen, cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend died March 17, 2026. Her last days were spent with her loving and devoted family at her side. She was 84.
Pam was born October 28, 1941, in Weehawken, New Jersey to John Irving Phalon and Ethel Keith. From the age of one, Pam lived in Lords Valley, Pennsylvania where she was raised and adored by Howard (Huffy) and Mary (Skinny) Huff. She was proud to be their daughter. Pam attended Hawley High School in Hawley, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1960.
After high school, Pam married her childhood friend and high school sweetheart, Henry Campen, on September 16, 1961. The two met in grade school and started dating as sophomores at Hawley High. Together they built a beautiful and close-knit family with their three daughters, Terry, Bonnie, and Ranae. During that time, Pam worked in the Hawley Silk Mill, the Kolmar factory, which manufactures beauty products and is still headquartered in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, and for a short time, at the historic Sparkomatic corporation in Milford, Pennsylvania where she assembled speed parts. For fun, Pam drove Henry’s stock car in the Powder Puff races at Moc-A-Tek Speedway in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, winning all the races she took part in.
The family relocated to Fort Myers, Florida in April 1977; and in October 1979, Pam began a decades long career working for the School District of Lee County. She worked with special needs students ranging in age from elementary to adult until she retired in January 2007. During her tenure she was proud to have been honored as Assistant of the Year. After her retirement, Pam continued to be a caretaker, helping those who needed assistance and companionship.
While Pam made a career of caring for others, her life was caring for her family. She valued her family above all else, and she instilled that value in all three of her daughters. Whether it was celebrating holidays or birthdays, going to sporting events, watching performances, going on shopping trips, working a puzzle, or going out for her favorite chocolate ice cream, Pam never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her beloved family; and her brightest smiles were inspired by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Henry and Pam divorced after 30 years of marriage, but they remained close friends and part of each other’s lives until her death.
Pam was preceded in death by her biological parents; her four half-brothers, John Irving Phalon, Jr., James Robert Phalon, George Raymond Phalon, and Harvey Keith; the parents who raised her, Huffy and Skinny; and her son-in-law Gary Johnson. In October 2012, Pam was also proceeded in death by Robert Leon Skeen, her companion of 20 years. She is survived by Henry and their three daughters, Terry Rohrman (Dave), Bonnie Johnson, and Ranae Atkinson; her treasured grandchildren Tyler Rohrman (Melissa), Brooks Rohrman (Giselle), Will Johnson (Brooke), Callie Atkinson, and Hannah Atkinson; and her equally treasured great grandchildren Camdyn, Calvin, and Clara Joy Rohrman, and Brynlee Rohrman.
Pam is remembered by her daughters as the kindest person they knew, who always saw the good in everyone, and who had the most beautiful smile. She remains dearly loved and greatly missed.
A memorial service is scheduled for May 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers. Visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service.
