IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela
Pecor
March 4, 1949 – July 14, 2023
Pamela G. Pecor of Belleview, Florida passed away Friday July 14, 2023. She was the daughter of Eugene and Delores Pecor. Pamela died from lung cancer.
She is survived by her nephew John P. Pecor, and cousins: Donald Lady, Diana Dougan, and Donnie Lady, and her sister-in-law Angela Pecor. She was preceded in death by her brother John.
Pamela was born in Miami Beach, Florida, March 4, 1949 and lived in Coral Gables until she was a teenager. Her family moved to Oaklands in Maryland where her love of horses began to flourish. She rode daily, showed horses and gave horse riding lessons to children. Pamela Grace graduated from Maret School in Washington D.C and attended college for a short time. Her career soon turned to Thoroughbred horse racing, and she became a professional horse trainer. Several years later she married another horse trainer, Bill Unger. They trained many horses together. After seven years, the couple divorced, and Pamela moved back to Florida. She became a real estate broker for a land developer in Ocala for nearly 20 years. Pamela then became a receptionist/office manager for Live Oak Veterinary Clinic. After working there for several years, she left and began working as a clerk at Roses Department Store in Belleview.
Pamela's hobbies included writing and telling stories of her life journeys. She had quite a talent for keeping her audiences intrigued. In 1987, her cherished story of one of her mother's horses was published. It is called Boogaloo Dancer , which is based on her real-life experiences with horses. Pamela also enjoyed taking care of her "farm," which was a home to her many beloved cats, dogs, birds, opossums, and raccoons over the years.
Pamela was also an active devout member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Belleview. She loved God and her church very much. Where there was a need, she was there to help.
Pamela's final request was to be cremated. Her Celebration of Life will be September 16th at St. Mary's Episcopal Church at 11:00. The church is located at 5750 SE 115 Street in Belleview, FL 34420. There will be refreshments available after the service at the church. Pamela's ashes will be released at her home by her family at a later date.
