IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia (Patty)
Ann Wheeler
May 27, 1942 – September 20, 2024
Patricia (Patty) Ann Wheeler, 82, of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on May 27, 1942. Patty moved to Venice in 1969, after falling in love with Southwest Florida when visiting in the summer while growing up and spending time in Venice with her husband, Charlie, on their honeymoon. In 1979, Patty began her real estate career with Bradway, Moore & Associates and spent the last decade with Premier Sotheby's International Realty. She loved Venice and sharing her love of the area with other people, helping countless families find homes in the area throughout her over 45-year career in real estate.
Beyond her professional life, Patty was a great wife, mom, grandmother and friend, who went out of her way to help everyone who knew her. There was nothing that she wouldn't do to help someone out. She loved to have fun and spend time with her family, especially her five grandsons, and friends, including her annual girls' trips and weekly bridge outings, and was an avid dog lover. Patty was the life of the party with an endless amount of energy and love to give, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Patty is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Charles Wheeler; her two sons, Frank (Traci) and Mark; and her five beloved grandsons, Andrew, Ben, Jackson, Garrett, and Dylan Wheeler. Her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and friends will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Patty's memory to the Humane Society of Sarasota County ( www.hssc.org/give/donate ) or to Tidewell Hospice ( www.tidewellfoundation.org ). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
