Patricia L. Betz, 81, daughter of the late Paul and Catherine Miller was born Patricia Miller on February 17, 1942 in Altoona, PA. She spent much of her adult life in the Williamsport, PA area prior to residing in The Villages, FL. Patricia passed away on March 1, 2023 following a lengthy health issue. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sister Carole Johnson, brother Lance Cpl. Edward Miller, and son, Randolph Benway. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Donald Betz; daughter, Lisa Baker of Medina, NY; son, Kevin Benway of The Villages, FL; daughter, Amy Bowen (Kyle) of St. Johns, FL; stepdaughters Janet Shoenfelt (John) of Perry, GA; and Kathy Betz (Lisa Weir) of Whiteford, MD; sister, Frances Lightner (William) of Duncansville, PA, brother, William Miller of Altoona, PA; sister, Barbara Knisley (Woody) of Claysburg, PA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, and nieces and nephews. Patricia graduated from Altoona Catholic in 1960 and went on to get her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Altoona Hospital. A lifetime learner, she continued her education getting a degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Business Administration and later, her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from The Pennsylvania State University to become a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She also enjoyed golfing, painting, singing and performing, and was a member of several performance groups in The Villages after her retirement. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 8 at the Mallory Country Club in The Villages.
