Obituary

Patricia was born on May 16 th , 1941, in Mt. Holly, NJ to William Neal Raver and Thelma Baker Raver.  Patti grew up in Woodbury, NJ and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1959.  Patti's father was a Methodist Minister, as his father was before him, and built a cottage in Long Beach Island, NJ where the family would spend weekends and summers.  Patti and her sister, Nancy, would be found soaking up the sun at the beach if they weren't sailing in the bay or digging up clams with their toes.  The cottage became a special place that generations of family would gather for years to come to laugh and share stories.

Patricia met the love of her life, Thomas Budd, in Woodbury, NJ, in elementary school.  Little did she know that the overly confident fifth grader that showed up at her door with nail polish would end up being her husband, but he knew.  Tom had no fear pursuing the Minister's daughter through the years and won Patti's heart.

Patti attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and then her master's degree in art education in 1966 from Glassboro College (now Rowan College).

Tom and Patti were married in 1967 and had two daughters, Julie Lynn Budd and Laura Jeanne Budd.  Patti worked as an Art Professor at Keuka College in New York and worked as an Art Teacher for over 35 years, working with grades K-6, with most of her later years at Daniel Young Elementary.

Patti was an amazing artist and would spend her free time drawing and painting wildlife.  Patti traveled to Africa to be close to the wildlife she loved and spent years as a Docent at the Kansas City Zoo.

Tom and Patti enjoyed retirement in Florida and Colorado and were always active.  They loved to travel and see new places.  They lived life to the fullest and were a couple people always wanted around.  Patti had a radiance that could light up a room and make a stranger walk over just to compliment the beauty of her smile.

Patti was loving and strong and took care of Tom while he was sick for over a year.  Patti passed away just 3 months after her husband, showing the connection they had in this life followed into the next one.

Patti was an amazing wife, mother, and nana.  Patti leaves behind her daughter, Laura Jeanne Hobbs; grandchildren, Jack Thomas Hobbs, Mia Rhyan Hobbs, and Abigail Emerald Rogers.

Patti's wishes were to have a private family ceremony that her daughter, Laura, is carrying out where both Tom and Patti's ashes will be spread together among the mountains of Colorado and the Gulf of Mexico.

Thank you for all the love and support and just ask that you keep her memory alive by thinking about her when you visit your local zoo or see a beautiful animal in the wild.
