PATRICIA ANNE CALDWELL

August 6, 1952 – January 21, 2026

Pat was born in Miami, FL in 1952. She graduated from Coral Gables High School, Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later from the University of Florida with a Master of Science in Nursing. She moved to Richmond, VA and began her nursing career at the hospital of the Medical College of Virginia. After several years she moved to Ocala, FL and began work at what was then called Monroe Regional Hospital (today known as Advent Health). She worked there for over 30+ years, including head of several of the nursing departments, especially the stroke unit.

Pat loved gardening and became a Master Gardener. She served 3 years as Vice-President of Marion County MGV program. She also served as Plant Clinic Director. Pat also loved cats, was known for “adopting” stray cats and volunteered some at the animal shelter. At the time of her death she had four cats, three inside and one outside. Pat so enjoyed the birds in her yard and fed them well.

Having grown up in Riviera Presbyterian Church in Miami she became a member of Grace Presbyterian when she moved to Ocala. There she served the congregation in various ways, including using her knowledge and skills of nursing.

Family was a very important part of her life and for many years Pat cared for her aging parents, Howard & Gladys Caldwell.

Pat is survived by her sister, Barbara Fletcher, and brother, Richard Caldwell (Susan), and several nieces and nephews (Catherine, Sarah, Karen, Chris, Riley and James). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to: Sheltering Hands in Ocala or Grace Presbyterian Church.
