Patricia Margaret Charette died on Monday, February 28 at the age of 94. She was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on December 1, 1927 to John McNally and Rose Mooney McNally. After graduating from North Quincy High School, Pat started her lifelong career with the telephone company…starting as a operator and working her way up to supervisor. She took time off after her marriage to Wilfred J. Charette to have four children, and to follow him during his 20 year Navy career to bases across the country: Florida, California, New Jersey & Rhode Island.
After retiring from the phone company, Pat volunteered at Truesdale Hospital and for the Pioneers. She served as Precinct Captain at the polls for many years. She was an avid swimmer and she loved traveling, Rummicube and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark, her niece Karen Manducca, and the father of her children, Wilfred; her brothers, James, John & Peter; her sisters-in-law, Emelia McNally, Claire Perry, and Shirley Goyette, ; brothers-in-law, John Glick, Red Turner, Ray Perry, Donald Nadeau and Gerard Goyette.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Charette of Chicago & Fort Myers, Paula Charette-Byers of Assonet, MA, and son Stephen of Vista, CA. She is also survived by her sisters Mary, Louise, Ann and Maureen, as well as her brothers Charles & Robert…sisters-in-law Michele McNally, Pauline Nadeau,and Liliana Sander ; daughter-in-law, Julie Charette; and many nieces & nephews.
Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Cabrera, Corey Byers (Nicholas) and Patrick (Andrea) Charette; and great-grandchildren: Preston Charette, Madelyn Cabrera, Carolyn Charette and Owen Cabrera.
A Mass will be held at St Columbkille Church on March 22: visitation at the chapel @10:30 with the Memorial Mass at 11.
Funeral Mass to be held at St Margaret of Scotland on April 21 in Buzzard's Bay, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family hopes you will donate to Pat's favorite charity, St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
