Obituary

Patricia (Patti) Theresa Czupka, 78, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at Health Central Hospital surrounded by family following a cardiac event at her home. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to John and Grace Gaughan, she was the eldest of six siblings. The family moved to Orlando in 1958 where she attended Saint James Catholic School and Bishop Moore Catholic High School. Through the University of Miami, she studied in radiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital. For nearly twenty years she represented numerous firms in the medical industry as a lab technician and with equipment sales before transitioning to the real estate profession where she prospered for over thirty years.

A devout Catholic, Patti belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando and was an avid supporter of the Brian Christopher Lanier Wings of Hope Foundation. She held a genuine fondness for all animals, particularly cats of which she adopted and provided care for. She was always available to family and friends to pet sit their four-legged critters whether in their home or hers. As a regular volunteer at the Winter Garden Heritage and Cultural Center she could always be found welcoming visitors with a warm and cheerful greeting.

Patti is survived by her husband Ted of thirty-six years, her children Tammy Collins (Tony) and Larry Askey (Lori), stepson Nathaniel Czupka (Glynne), grandchildren Brandon Collins (Hannah), Shane Collins, Caden Askey, Breanne Wright, great granddaughter Marceline Shingleton, and her siblings Kathy Gautsch (Tony), John Gaughan (Sharon), Robert Gaughan (Shelly), Mike Gaughan (Cheryl) and Mary Vanatta (Nick), and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, in the Chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to The Brian Christopher Lanier Wings of Hope Foundation or Polka Dogs Pet Rescue.

Patti will always be remembered for her loving and caring heart, her contagious smile and laughter, her dedication to family, and for her love of God. May God bless her, enfold her in His mercy and grant her life everlasting in His Heavenly Kingdom. Amen.
