Obituary

Patricia Anne Meszler (79), passed away after a brief illness with family members at her bedside March 23, 2016 in Leesburg FL. Pat was born in Little Falls January 21, 1937 to the late Francis and Anne Krug. A longtime resident of Herkimer, Pat married Lewie Meszler on April 21, 1957 at St. Francis De Sales Church. Through their marriage of nearly 59 years, they raised 9 children; Dan and wife Peggy of Abingdon MD, Nancy Collins of Troy, Dale and wife Lori of Waterville, Kathy of Delhi, Karen and husband Douglas (Charlie) Miller of Ohio, David and wife Robin of Guilderland, Darrin and wife Kim of Webster, Dennis and wife Patty of Apex, NC and Duane and wife Sue of Oklahoma City, OK. Pat's extended family included her brother Francis along with brother and sister in-laws, Ray and Charlotte Meszler, Martha Meszler, Leonard Hayes and preceded in death by Clifton Meszler and Priscilla Hayes. In addition, she leaves 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pat enjoyed many friends and excelled in her career as a Mom. She attended every band concert, sporting event and musical production from pop warner football to HHS Marching Band where she took on the nickname of Mom Mezz. As her children grew older she entered the work force as a cashier at the Great American Supermarket and soon after took a job as a library aide in the Herkimer Central School District where she continued to influence many young lives in the village. As a Grandma, regardless of the distance, it became normal to find her in the audience at recitals, concerts, sporting events and graduations. Pat, Mom, Grandma Patty, Aunt Pat and Mom Mezz will be missed by many.

A remembrance service will be held at St. Francis De Sales Church in Herkimer at a later date.
