Patricia
Thompson
Mar 18, 1945 — Nov 13, 2022
ON THE OCCASION OF THE PASSING OF PATRICIA RAPONE THOMPSON Surrounded by family and friends and after a beautiful life of 77 years, Patricia "Pat" Rapone Thompson died peacefully in her sleep on November 13, 2022, in Port Orange, Florida, following a short illness. Pat was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1945, the only girl in a family of 6 children. She grew up a devout Catholic and graduated from St. Hubert's School for Girls. She married and eventually relocated with her husband and family to the Daytona Beach area in 1969. Pat had the distinction of excelling in two careers, one legal and one medical. She was a legal secretary and paralegal for many years and worked for the Haas, Boehm, & Brown law firm in Daytona Beach. In her late forties, Pat decided to return to college, receiving her BSN degree at age 50. Pat then embarked on a nearly 20 year career in nursing, including 15 especially meaningful years with Halifax Hospice. Pat always retained and treasured her Philadelphia roots which she routinely displayed in her puckish wit, persistence, and dedication to the Eagles. She was extremely proud of her family, and they were equally proud of her. Pat was predeceased by her brother Charlie Friend and will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings Edmund Rapone, Richie Friend, George Friend, and David Friend. Pat's immeasurable loss will be felt by her three children, Patrice (Earl) Scott, Heather (Alessandro) De Paolis and Frank (Rachel) Thompson, and her grandchildren, Kaemon and Kaedin Scott, Leonardo and Stefano De Paolis, and Caleb, Rhiannon, and Avery Thompson, who were the pride and joy of Meme's life. The legacy of Pat's kind spirit, her unconditional love, and her zest for life will persevere in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Halifax Hospice of Port Orange, a cause near and dear to Pat. To commemorate and honor Pat Thompson, a Celebration of Life will be held on December 17th, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wilbur Boathouse.
