Patrick Chambers,
Jr.
February 6, 2022
Patrick J. Chambers, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022 at his home in the Villages, FL. Born in Cleveland, OH to Patrick and Catherine Chambers, Pat (87) enjoyed a long life filled with travel, good food, and the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Nancy who predeceased him in 2017. Pat, a star basketball player in the late 40's/early 50's at West High, enlisted in the Marines in 1953, proud to serve his county, and upon his discharge enrolled in Case University (now Case Western Reserve) earning an Engineering Degree, putting his IQ of 165 to good use. Pat spent his career in the energy industry starting off with the East Ohio Gas Company inspecting pipelines and retiring as the Chief Financial Officer for Orange & Rockland Utilities in NY. Pat's jobs took him from Ohio to New Jersey, Maryland and New York. Over the years Pat and Nancy were snowbirds wintering away from the cold of NJ in Maui and Hilton Head, and eventually buying a home in the Villages, FL where they appreciated the many restaurants and the wide variety of live entertainment. Pat and Nancy traveled extensively, experiencing the many sights, sounds and cuisines he had read about and putting his love of history to good use. Their many travels took them to cities across Europe as well as the US, and during their 50th year anniversary Pat and Nancy travelled at least once each month to mark their special milestone. If you wanted to make him smile all you had to do was comment on his baby blue eyes, it got him every time.
Pat is survived by his three children, Stephanie and Patrick Chambers and Michele Shakley; his sister Margaret Brady (John); sisters-in-law Sandra Merritt (Rush), Marsha Napier and Barbara Bolton; brothers-in-law William Furfaro, Terry Prock (Patty); and innumerable nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Bush; brothers-in-law, Steven, David and Alan Prock, Robert Bush; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Furfaro, Faye, Cheryl, Garnet and Rose Prock; son-in-law Allan Shakley; nephews Andrew Bush, Melvin and Michael Prock; great-niece, Brittany Blogna and great-nephew, Brandon Caraballo.
Private Cremation with interment services in Ohio to be held at a later date.
