Paul W. Atkinson, age 94 of Ocala Florida passed away May 4, 2022. Paul was born on March 1, 1928 in London, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Atkinson, Daughter Sherri Marie Smith, Sister Lorraine Smith and his parents Harry and Evelyn Atkinson.
He is survived by his children Terri (Michael) Zannetti, Wesley Stephen (Holly) Atkinson, Carl (Susan) Mount, Milissa (Daryl) DuPage, Grandchildren, Kimberlee (Edward) Davis, Jeffrey Michael Zannetti, Wes Blondin, Paul (Danielle) Atkinson, Joseph (Anna) Atkinson, Lauren Brown, Stacey Smith, Scott Mount, Jack Mount, Dylan DuPage, Spencer DuPage, and Logan DuPage. He is also survived by Eight Great Grandchildren.
He became a U.S. Citizen and later served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class from 1946-1948. Later, he became a Great Lakes Captain and Diver for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers out of the Detroit, Michigan District.
After, retiring in 1986 from the U.S. Corps of Engineers, he enjoyed many years with his wife Shirley on Harsens Island, Michigan.
He always stayed busy, building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, playing golf, mastering woodworking and playing billiards.
After a burial service, planned later this summer, Paul will be laid to rest at Mt Hope Cemetery in Johannesburg Michigan.
