Paul V. Boussy, formerly of Milton and Chatham, Massachusetts, and most recently of Venice, Florida, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 83.

Paul was born on April 5, 1943, and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Harold C. Boussy and Mary W. (McDonough) Boussy. He was one of five children in a close-knit family.

On February 15, 1970, Paul married Jane (Shaughnessy) Boussy, beginning a marriage that would span more than 56 years. Together, Paul and Jane built a life centered around family, raising their three children in Milton and later enjoying many memorable years in Chatham on Cape Cod.

Paul was the devoted father of Michele Boussy Tracia; Pete Boussy and his wife, Kim; and Jennifer Carroll and her husband, Michael. He was the proud grandfather of Alden, Lily and Declan Boussy; Ava Tracia; and Michael and Matthew Carroll.

Paul was the brother of the late Thomas H. Boussy and his wife, Barbara; Marie A. (Boussy) McLaughlin and her husband, Rick; Richard F. Boussy and his wife, Debbie; and the late Robert J. Boussy. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Linda (Shaughnessy) Johnson, wife of the late Richard Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Among them were his godchildren, Kristen Martin and Tommy Boussy.

Family was at the center of Paul's life. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and throughout his life he was also a loyal friend, neighbor, coach, colleague and volunteer. He enjoyed helping others and was always willing to lend a hand. Whether coaching his children's youth teams, helping a neighbor or simply being there when someone needed him, Paul valued the relationships and communities that surrounded him.

Paul was a proud graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Class of 1966. Following graduation, his early career took him around the world while working in the engine rooms of cruise ships, an experience that began a lifelong career in engineering.

He went on to have two long careers in Massachusetts, first with Stone & Webster and later as a mechanical engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Correction. During his years with the Commonwealth, Paul was a member of the Massachusetts Organization of State Engineers and Scientists (MOSES).

Paul's commitment to his community extended well beyond his professional life. He was deeply involved with the Knights of Columbus in Milton, serving two terms as Grand Knight.

He gave generously of his time to his children's activities and youth sports in Milton, serving as a coach and volunteer. Paul was also the kind of neighbor who could often be found helping others — including being among the first to fire up the snowblower after a New England storm. He also helped establish the Eliot Street Open, a neighborhood golf tournament that became another way to bring friends and neighbors together.

Although Paul's life took him from Dorchester to Milton, Chatham, and Venice, Florida, Massachusetts was always home. His Dorchester roots, the years spent raising his family in Milton, summers and memories on Cape Cod, and the lifelong friendships he formed there remained an important part of who he was.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Paul's life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to support scholarships at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, helping future students pursue the education and opportunities that helped launch Paul's own career.
