Paul David Oleck, aged 77, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on July 20, 2026 in Orlando, Florida. Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 16, 1948, he moved to Florida at age 10 and lived in Miami most of his life before moving to Winter Park, Florida in 2023. The son of Dr. Henry Telesfor Oleck and Verne Elsie (Oberreutter), he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. An avid saltwater fisherman, he went on to become an owner of Mariner’s Seafood in South Miami, Florida. In later years he became a massage therapist with a focus on healing others.

Paul was a dedicated Gator and loved anything involving Star Trek, science fiction or classic films. He will be remembered for his intrepid spirit, independence, and pitching entrepreneurial ideas. Paul always ended every phone call with a bright “Cheerio”.

He is survived by siblings Diane Oleck Bedell, Laurence Keith Oleck (Mary Kay), Peter Michael Oleck (Cary) and Laura Oleck Carras (Steven) and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by both his parents and brother, Philip Henry Oleck. A private family memorial will be held to celebrate his life.
