Paul Joseph Sullivan of The Villages, FL, formerly of South Boston and Braintree, MA passed away on January 15, 2022, after a long illness. Paul is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Sullivan (Campbell), who passed away this past year. Paul leaves behind his 4 children who adored him; Denise Kenney and her husband Patrick, Chris Mahoney and her husband David, Shawn Sullivan and his wife Kim, and Lynda McCullough and her husband Keith. Paul got the greatest joy being Grampy to his eight grandchildren; Katie and Patrick Sullivan, Cailin and Ryan Mahoney, Reilly and Samantha McCullough, and the late Jack Kenney and Jessica McCullough. Born and raised in South Boston, MA, Paul is pre-deceased by his parents, Lawrence and Clara (Orlando) Sullivan, his brother Lawrence Sullivan and his sister Arlene Nee. Paul is survived by his brother Joseph Sullivan and his wife Christine. Family was the most important thing in Paul's life. He left behind countless cousins, nieces and nephews, who will continue to honor the family legacy that he was so proud to be a part of. Paul was a proud US Navy veteran. He was also a very active Friend of Bill's for the past 43 years, selflessly providing his friendship and guidance to those in need. After retirement Paul and Mary moved to The Villages, FL, where they have spent the past 23 wonderful years. Their lives were blessed with many, many friends and great memories of good times, whether it be their many trips together, golfing or simply meeting at the coffee shop sharing laughter and love. A funeral mass for Paul will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 10:00am at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth, MA 02360. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org ) or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org).
