Pearl Marcella Keddie passed away peacefully on Sept 11 at her daughter's home in Florida at the age of 89 surrounded by her family and her cat Baby 2. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, George Keddie.

Pearl was born on June 20, 1931 in Brainerd, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest L. Dorsett and Marcella Wolleat Dorsett. The Dorsett family including Pearl and her two brothers, Owen and Ernie eventually left their farm in Minnesota and settled in Stockton, California, where Pearl's father was engaged in ship-building during WW2.

Pearl married George Keddie in 1950 after graduating from Stockton High School. They have one daughter Suzanne Marcella Keddie, MD.

Pearl was a talented artist in multiple media including paper, fabric, porcelain, paint and glass. Her sewing took blue ribbons every year she entered at the San Joaquin County fair. Her painted porcelain dolls were sold in Los Angeles and New Orleans for many years.

Pearl and George partnered with Suzanne and her husband Eric Stratmann in remodeling and running Milton Hall, a bed and breakfast in Covington, Virginia. Pearl spent many hours painting, decorating and sewing beautiful window coverings for the Gothic Victorian home. Her hearty breakfasts were legendary, and not soon forgotten by her guests. Pearl loved being always available for her twin grandsons Alex and Chris Stratmann who lived right next door. She was a loving, funny, Christian grandma who loved cats. Pearl has lived in Lewisburg, West Virginia, for the last eleven years prior to moving to Florida with Suzanne and Eric in 2019.

Pearl is survived by her daughter Suzanne of The Villages, Florida, her brother Ernie Dorsett of Portland, Oregon, and her grandsons Alex Stratmann of Roanoke, Virginia, and Chris Stratmann of San Diego, California.

No service is scheduled due to the pandemic. Pearl and George will be placed together in an ossuary in Trinity, North Carolina. The family would like to thank Cornerstone Hospice of the Villages for their loving care of Pearl.
