Obituary

Pervis Wayne Miller February 17, 1945 – August 29, 2021 Wayne, as he was known to his family, was a beloved husband to his wife Winona, a loving father to their daughter Kristi, and was adored by his Airedale terrier, Valen. Being a cowboy at heart, he normally rose early to watch the sunrise as he appreciated nature and all of God's creation. He liked to photograph birds and flowers, especially hummingbirds and Texas bluebonnets. His relaxation time was often spent drawing and sketching, but he loved to also read and study history as it related to the world. Traveling was a family affair, covering all fifty states and five continents. Although he enjoyed flying, his favorite modes of transportation were his corvette or his Chevy truck. His family and friends recognized his dry wit, which was only surpassed by his loyalty to them. In his down-to-earth manner he always had a story or experience to share. He loved helping people see the best in themselves, and during his dedicated career with the Frisco, Missouri Pacific, CSX, and Union Pacific Railroads he influenced many lives. He honorably served his country six years in the US Navy as a Seabee and UDT on Midway Island, the Philippines and Vietnam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial donation be made to: National Seabee Museum & Seabee Historical Foundation www.seabeehf.com CEC/Seabee Historical Foundation POB 657 Gulfport, MS 39502-0657 In memory of Pervis Wayne Miller
