October 4, 1927 – March 3, 2021
New Smyrna Beach, Fla.- Peter Cimellaro passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday Mar. 3, 2021 in Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion E. Cimellaro, and his Mother, Josephine Fontanamaro, his Father, John Baptista Cimellaro.
Peter was born in Portland, Maine on Oct. 4, 1927.
He went to a trade school in Portland, Maine. He was a Teamster Member in the Trucking Industry all his working years. He loved trucks and came out of retirement to drive for Raymond Service Center for two years. Most of all he loved his family and friends and he had so many, too many to list, but you know who you are.
On Sept. 27,1949 he married Marion E. Linneken. They had six children, Robert Johnson of Hawaii, Amy Cimellaro of Florida, Lori Brown of Maine, Edra Long Gallant of Florida and Joseph Cimellaro of Maine. He leaves behind 9 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grand Children whom he enjoyed and adored.
He was very much a part of a wonderful fellowship at Quail Hollow where he and his late wife resided.
All his life he enjoyed being a chef and he enjoyed everything about cooking and baking for family and friends. His specialties were Sicilian meatballs, eggplant and Lasagna. He also enjoyed woodworking and building. He built decks, rebuilt rooms, garages, wooden curios, and whimsical characters.
He loved going to Bingo on Thursday night. He belonged to the Brannon Center of New Smyrna Beach where he lunched and played poker. He enjoyed all the festivities of the holidays and being around family and friends. He will be forever loved and missed beyond words.
He was a sponsor for St. Jude's for 12 years. In Lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's research hospital for childhood cancer.
