Obituary

Peter Callen Hageman, of Bolton, Ontario, Canada, passed away on October 5th, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida.

Peter was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to Donald Callen Hageman and Susan May Hageman on May 19th, 1973. He went to school at Humberview Secondary School and graduated from Penn State University.

He proudly served as a Lieutenant with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service for 19 years. As both a paramedic and a Fire Suppression Lieutenant, he was highly respected by his colleagues and known for his professionalism, skill, and ability to perform exceptionally well in most challenging emergency situations.

In addition to his full-time service, he continued his commitment to helping others by working part-time as a paramedic out of Gettysburg Hospital and servicing as a flight medic aboard a medical helicopter.

Peter was a proud father and quietly practiced his Christian faith. He had a giant heart and while the disease of addiction took much from him, it never took his generous spirit, his quick wit, or his immense love for his family. Those who knew him best will always remember his laugh, his kindness, and his work ethic. We choose to remember him for his warmth, his talents, and the moments of joy he shared with us.

Peter found happiness through sports, regularly attending the activities of his children and professional sporting events with his family. Peace was found for Peter through outdoor activities and time with his family, whether it be skiing in Canada, or on the golf course or beach in Florida.

Peter is survived by his children Cassie Amsley (Drew), Josh Hageman (Michelle), and Reilly Hageman, by his brother Daniel Hageman (Julie Fotheringham), his father Callen Hageman (Nancy), his mother Susan Hageman, by his grandchildren Paul Hageman and Carter Amsley.

In honor of his generous heart and his lifelong battle, the family requests that donations be made to Montgomery County Career Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation. His family urges anyone struggling with addiction to know that you are loved, you are worthy, and you are not alone.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The family of Peter wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Montogomery County Fire and Rescue and the Sarasota Police Department.

May he finally find the peace in rest that he searched for so hard in life.
