Peter J. Mascaro, Jr. 83, of Ocala, Florida, formally of Middletown, husband of Judith (Turner) Mascaro for over 60 years, passed away on May 2, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born in Middletown on March 3, 1934, the son of the late Peter. J. Sr. and Helen (Barbour) Mascaro.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was employed for many years by Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He was an accomplished musician playing the saxophone and clarinet and in several bands in the 1970's. He loved singing "Hello Dolly" and "Leaving on a Jet Plane" . Peter was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club and Moose Club and was an avid Boston Red Sox and NASCAR fan. Peter loved playing cards, dominos and trips to the casino and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife he is survived by his five children, Peter D. Sr. and his wife Linda of Middletown, Michelle and her husband James Westcott of Ocala, FL, Theodore and his fiancé Phyllis Usher of Colchester, Kevin J, Sr. and his companion Audrey Tomaso of Middletown and Keith of Middletown; grandchildren Adam Mascaro and his wife Sheri, Kevin J. Mascaro, Jr and Katie Mascaro; Bryon Westcott, Ryan Gomiseck and his wife Tess, Shannon Zarger and her husband Stephen, Stephanie Buote and her husband James; great-grandchildren, Mason Mascaro, Alivia and John Mascaro, Paige and Lauren Zarger, Bradley Boute , Jordyn Natale, and Sean, Laney, Cassie and Clara Gomiscek; his sister Alyce Reardon and her husband James of Middletown; sister-in-law Emily Rodenburg and her husband William of Uncasville, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother J. Eugene Mascaro, his grandsons, Peter D. Mascaro, Jr and Brett Westcott.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on a later date at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown, followed by a burial at Miner Cemetery.
