Philip Lloyd Burrus, 57, of Ocala, Florida died Friday, April 12, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Philip grew up in Long Beach, MS. He moved to Florida after high school. Later, Phil moved back to Mississippi, Tennessee, and his birthplace Fredericksburg, Virginia before settling in Ocala, Florida. While in Virginia, Philip started and ran an irrigation business but, in 2005, he graduated from a Richmond, VA School of Nursing and spent the rest of his career as a nurse doing what he loved. Philip is preceded in death by his father, Walter L. Burrus. He is survived by his mother, Mary A. Burrus of Long Beach, Mississippi; sons: Corey E. Bunn of Adamsville, Alabama; Jeremy P. Bunn of Trussville, AL; Yerik J. Faulkner of Blaine, Tennessee; brothers and sisters: Lonnie (Tammy) Burrus of Fredericksburg, VA; Lee Ann Burrus of Ocala, FL; Lisa (Charles "JJ") Connell of Long Beach, MS; Kevin (Susan) Burrus of King George, VA; Lynne Stone of Long Beach, MS; Tommy Burrus of Marianna, FL; Timmy Burrus of Yazoo City, MS; granddaughter, Ryan T. Bunn of Trussville, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. A Graveside service will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens on April 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
