Ralph R.
Rinehart
September 19, 1944 – March 23, 2026
Ralph Rinehart, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2026, at Cornerstone Hospice House in the loving presence of his daughter, Lynne Rhue. Born on September 19, 1944, in Niagara Falls, New York, Ralph lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. Ralph was the cherished son of Ralph Rinehart Sr. and Laurda Rinehart, who, along with his dear wife, Marie (Ruggirello) Rinehart, and his esteemed brother, Harold (Rick) Rinehart, predeceased him.
Ralph and Marie's love story began with their marriage on October 18, 1969, at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, New York. Together, they built a life of love and laughter in Youngstown, New York, where they raised their two adored children, Lynne and Michael. Ralph's heart was heavy with the loss of Marie in September 2016, but he carried her spirit with him every day thereafter.
A proud graduate of Niagara Falls High School in 1964, Ralph's journey of service began with his enlistment in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a Private with the 459th, Ralph's dedication and sense of duty were evident, leaving a legacy of honorable service to his country that his family remains proud of. Ralph's professional life was spent at General Motors, where he dedicated 31 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. His colleagues knew him for his relentless pursuit of excellence, as he was frequently recognized for his contributions to improving production quality. Ralph's life was not only defined by his work but also by his passions and hobbies. He found joy in the great outdoors, relishing time spent at camp with his family. Whether hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, or golfing, Ralph's deep connection with nature was a source of happiness. An avid fan of the Maple Leafs hockey team, he shared many memorable moments with fellow fans. Ralph's warmth and generosity knew no bounds. He was a hardworking man, known for his quick wit and his talent for home renovation and woodworking. In "Ralph's Doghouse," his cherished shed, he could often be found with a beer in hand, creating and reconstructing projects for the people he loved. His creations were more than just wood and nails; they were expressions of love and care for family and friends.
Ralph leaves behind a legacy of love and memories, survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Lynne (Richard) Rhue, and his loving son, Michael Rinehart. He was a proud grandfather to Christopher and Jenna Rhue, who adored their "Papa". His brothers, George (Louise) Rinehart, Dennis Rinehart, and Ronald Rinehart, along with his sister-in-law, Marylin (Harold) Rinehart, brother-in-law Patrick (Irene) Ruggirello, nieces, nephews, and many close friends, especially Thomas Bagovich, will deeply miss his presence. In accordance with Ralph's wishes, a private ceremony at a later date will be held to honor his life. The family takes solace in knowing he is reunited with his beloved Marie and finds peace in the memories they created together. Ralph Rinehart's life was a testament to love, dedication, and a heart full of kindness. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those he loved.
