Obituary

Randall "Randy" William McIntyre, 78, resident of Lady Lake, FL and formerly of Colebrook, NH passed peacefully at home on June 14, 2025 with his loving wife Kathy by his side. Born and raised in Rumford, Maine. Randy proudly served 2 tours of duty in the Vietnam War. After his service he joined a friend in Wyoming to work on oil drills there. A call from Warren at The Balsams in Dixville Notch, NH brought Randy back east where he was head of the ski patrol at The Balsams Ski Area. Randy's love of skiing continued all his life and he would watch it on TV whenever he could after moving south. A quest for learning and the medical field led him to Eastern Maine Medical Ctr where he became a med surg tec and worked at The Colebrook Hospital. Another career opportunity led Randy to become a US Customs Agent stationed on the Vermont Border. In 2000 he married Kathy and in 2001 the horrible events of 9/11 summoned his service at The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Ga where he taught new agents there for 6 years. Randy retired from FLETC in 2007 after 27 years of service. Moving to The Villages, FL meant working at the resident gates, maintenance at golf courses there, working and volunteering at Cornerstone Hospice, being a guardian on the Villages Honor Flight and always being welcomed at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages.

Randy's favorite past times were reading, watching TV, golf cart rides with dear dog Daisy and meeting friends at Doggie Do Run Run dog park.  His favorite restaurant was Mission BBQ in Lady Lake, that is owned and operated by Veterans and where he always felt at home.

Randy is survived by his wife of 25 yrs, Kathy,  of Lady Lake FL, and his sister Sara and husband Jeff of Rumford Pt, Me. He is lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Randy is preceeded in death by his parents John and Bertha McIntyre and his brothers Bob and Barry.

In keeping with Randy's wishes there will be no service. Just keep him in your hearts with a funny story and memory now and then.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages, FL.

And remember, "As pure as the wind driven snow."
