Rantson Edward "Rants" Davis, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away January 5, 2016. Born August 25,1927, in Brooksville, Florida, he was always very proud to have been a "native" Floridian as well as a Florida Gator. Rants served in the Navy in WWII and the Army in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Florida Law School and practiced law for many years in Leesburg, Lake County, Florida. He enjoyed cooking, hiking, bicycling, birds (and the bees) and singing. He is survived by his wife of 30+ years, Carol Davis and their blended family of six children (Bradley Davis, Mark Nichols, Jennifer Graves, Laurie-Jean Welch, Laurie Remaley and Melinda Balliett) 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by extended family members Jerrold and Barbara Coon and their daughter, Julianne Coon, all of Ohio. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
