Raymond John Nau, Jr, 83, died on April 27, 2024.
Ray was born on July 3, 1940 to Theresa (Risko) and Raymond John Nau in Norwalk, Connecticut. He attended Jackson High School and the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.
His career centered on tourism, working for Eastern Airlines for 28 years (a job and airline he loved) and later included the hotel and cruise industry but his joy was his family.
His focus was always centered in tourism and community service. He is a Paul Harris Fellow; served as a JCI Senator; a past member and chairman of the Brevard County Tourism Development Council; a past chairman of the United Way of Brevard County; past member of the Florida Governor's Tourist Development Board; past chairman of the Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida Convention Visitor's Bureau.
He volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Name of Jesus and spent 15 years as a participating member of the Family Assistance Foundation Care Team an international organization based in Georgia.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Brenda (Rau); his daughter Heidi Taht (Michael) grandsons Adam Britz and Eric Britz; his son Christopher (Melissa) Nau, grandsons Tyler and Carson Nau; his son Brent (Lesley) Nau, grandson Andrew Nau. He also leaves a half-sister, Jeanne Nau Jensen.
If you would like to join the family to remember Raymond, you are welcome to join them for Mass which will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of life to follow at Indian Harbour Beach recreation center in Gleason Park.
