Raymond Eugene Pier, 77, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on January 5th, 2024. Ray was born on October 8th, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ellis and Eileen Pier.

Ray graduated in 1965 from Howe High School in Indianapolis, lettering in football, baseball, and track. After high school, he joined the U.S Air Force and served for 4 years. He later attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated in 1974 with a bachelor's in education.

After university, Ray worked at the Ford Motor Company, and then decided to switch careers to become a math teacher at Greenwood Middle School. He became the Director of Operations at Greenwood Community School Corporation and then at Franklin Township School Corporation. He also started his own construction company, RayBuilt Homes.

After retiring, he resided in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Ray is preceded in death by his father, Ellis Pier, and mother, Eileen Pier.

He is survived by many lifelong friends in Florida and Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Indiana at a later date that is to be determined.
