Raymond Clifford Sorensen, 90, New Smyrna Beach FL died Tuesday, January 8, 2013. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois. Raymond served our nation in the US Army during WW II in the 41st Armored Infantry and was a POW. He and his brother owned and operated a Phillips 66 service station in Waukegan, IL for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid bicyclist. He came to the New Smyrna Beach area for many years as a snowbird moving here permanently in 2009. He is survived by his children Raymond C Sorensen, Jr of Wadsworth, IL, Bonnie Sorensen of New Smyrna Beach, Susan Dixon of Gurnee, IL, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and friend and companion Helen Griffith. Services will be at a later date in Illinois.
