Obituary

Rebecca Kay Berdahl, lovingly known to many as “Becky” and “Dozer,” passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by love after a life devoted to caring for others, serving her community, and fiercely loving her family and friends.

Rebecca was a proud nurse whose greatest personal accomplishment was earning her RN, BSN through Valencia Community College’s nursing program while raising two children as a single mother and working to support her family. She completed her nursing commencement ceremony on December 20, 1991 — a milestone she carried with tremendous pride throughout her life.

Throughout her nursing career, Rebecca worked as an OB/GYN nurse, home health nurse, and later in nurse case management within the workers’ compensation field. She served patients and families through organizations including Waterman Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, CNA/Risco, and numerous healthcare organizations throughout Central Florida.

In 1988, Rebecca received a Certificate of Appreciation from Orlando Regional Medical Center recognizing five years of loyal and valuable service as a member of the hospital staff. Earlier, in 1982, she was honored with a Good Citizenship Award from the City of Orlando for voluntarily assisting the Orlando Fire Department in a manner representative of outstanding citizenship. She was also recognized for her dedicated prison ministry outreach work through Al Paquette Ministries.

Outside of nursing, Rebecca dedicated countless hours organizing and supporting motorcycle charity rides, benefit events, and fundraisers for families experiencing illness, injury, loss, and hardship. Through organizations including Chrome Angels, Bikers for Babies, Al Paquette Ministries, prison ministry outreach, and motorcycle charity communities throughout Central Florida, she helped raise awareness, support, and hope for many people in need.

Rebecca was a lifelong Harley-Davidson rider and proud member of the biker community long before her daughter was born in 1977. Riding brought her freedom, adventure, friendship, joy, and purpose. She loved benefit rides, biker events, Biker Olympics, Sturgis, music, dancing, classic rock, country music, and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her long braid, Harley-Davidson shirts, jeans, flip-flops, and her signature habit of spinning her braid while dancing and laughing with those she loved.

She also loved collecting Harley-Davidson memorabilia, pigs, and meaningful keepsakes gathered throughout her many years in the biker community.

Rebecca will be remembered as fiercely loyal, funny, strong-willed, generous, hardworking, and deeply compassionate. Known by many as someone who always showed up when people needed help, she instinctively stepped in however she could — whether through caregiving, fundraising, cooking meals, organizing support, visiting hospital bedsides, or simply making people feel welcomed, safe, and loved.

One of Rebecca’s greatest joys in life was being “Nana.” Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she cherished every opportunity to be present in their lives. Her children and grandchildren will forever miss hearing her loving phrase, “Hey Kiddo… Whatcha doin?”

Rebecca is survived by her children, Laura Berdahl Rudnick and Jeremy Travis Berdahl; Amanda Berger and her husband Nick Berger; grandchildren Gage Scott Savageau, Daniel Nathan Berdahl, Ripley Berger, Dominic Berger, and Brianna Berger; her beloved dog Lucy Lou; siblings Bill Berdahl and family, Jeff Berdahl and family, and Kristi Landry and family; along with countless extended family members, friends, fellow riders, and members of the community whose lives she touched deeply.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Sue Berdahl and Arvid Berdahl; nephews Patrick Landry, Robbie Berdahl, and Brian Berdahl; and niece Melinda Berdahl.
