Reginald David Thomas

Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on August 7, 2026.

Born September 6, 1962 in Trenton, Michigan to parents Reginald Gordon Thomas and Elsie Dunning. He was in the army from 1982 to 1986 as an aircraft power plant repairer. He became a hand grenade expert and an M-16 rifle sharp shooter. He spent 19 years at BASF Chemicals. He also worked at Cranbrook schools as an audiovisual specialist and in the chem lab. He really enjoyed being involved with the Human Awareness Institute workshops. His favorite job was driving buses for Walt Disney World and then becoming a bus driver trainer. He liked making a difference in people’s lives.

He married his first wife Michele Guiher in 1982 and had 2 children, Trevor and Greg Thomas. He loved them and Trevor’s son Caleb.

He married the love of his life, Margo Thomas, in 2007. They had no children together but had three dogs over 19 years. The newest, Coco, a 7-month-old Havanese puppy brought him great joy. He loved Margo’s daughter Erica and his grandchildren Alyssa and Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his sister Jan Gerstler. He is survived by his wife Margo Thomas, his sister Chris Bowman, his children Trevor Thomas (Laura) and Greg Thomas (Reva Williams)and his grandchildren Caleb, Alyssa and Chloe.

Reg lived life to the fullest with his many interests of scuba diving, hiking, camping, motorcycle riding, ham radio operator (KD8THB, SK / 73s), kayaking, metal detecting, being a gun enthusiast, enjoying their 125 gallon saltwater tank, playing with Coco and, of course, going on cruises with Margo.  He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
