Regis Michael
“Mike” Hickey
February 7, 1936 – February 5, 2016
Regis Michael Hickey (Mike) age 79, husband of Penelope Hickey (Penny) died following a home accident February 4, 2016. Mike served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958 being stationed at New Castle, DE and Osan, South Korea. He graduated cum laude from Kent State University with a degree in Industrial Relations. Mike was with Ford Motor Company in Detroit and Jacksonville before moving to Monsanto Chemical in St. Louis. He was then CEO of US based animal nutrition firm owned by Mitsui. At the same time he was CEO of Novus International. Mike retired to Florida 1967. He was an avid reader and collector of non-fiction books having a library of over 3,000. Mike was writing a book on management when he died.
Mike enjoyed boating, traveling in his RV and especially golf. He played most major courses in the US and Japan. He was a member of the Smyrna Yacht Club taking a years leave of absence for 2016.
In addition to is wife, Mike is survived by his sister, Eileen Donovan ,brother, John Richard Hickey, nieve Cathy Ott and family of OH; Son Brian Hickey (Sheryl) and family of MO, daughter Beth Wheeler (Chuck) and family of IL. He also leaves step- son, W. David Pearcy, and step- granddaughter, Dainelle Gordon (Kenneth) and family of CA; step-daughter Robin Comtois (Armand) and daughters Courtney and Amber (Steve Kornerich) and family of NH, step-sister, Florrie Mulvey (Robert) and step- nieces, Susan (Timothy) Lavallee and family of NC, and Miichelle Mulvey of NJ. And finally his precious cat, Posie.
Services will be held in Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Mike requested donations in his name to be made to Boggy Creek, 30500.
