Richard A. Babcock, age 83 from North Port, Florida, formerly of H i nckley, Ohio, passed away on January 9, 2023 at Tidewell Hospice. He was born July 18, 1939 in Fairview, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frankie (nee Lutz) and his children, Scott (Debbie), Gary (Claudia), and Lynn (Phil). He was also the grandfather to Tim (Nicki), Jacque (Josh), Michael (Ashley), Ryan (Rachel), Ashley (Tyler), and Natalie (Ryan), and eight great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters, Alice and Sandy, and a brother, Bob. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon.
Richard retired from the city of Strongsville, Ohio as a state certified inspector. He was a "jack of all trades and master of all." From restoring and building homes to restoring cars and repairing anything that needed it – it was his forte – he loved projects. He was dearly loved by our amazing neighbors, and enjo yed serving them as a handyman. He enjoyed baseball, especially softball. In his younger days he was a Little League coach and umpire. He loved to travel and enjoyed snowmobiling.
He was a family man who was very proud of his family and heritage, and had a special admiration for his children and grandchildren.
