IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Bonebrake
February 8, 1943 – June 6, 2025
Richard "Dick" Bonebrake, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 6, 2025, in The Villages, Florida, with his wife, Barbara, by his side. Born on February 8, 1943, in Columbus, Indiana to William and Lucille Bonebrake, Dick lived a full and fun-filled life defined by his love of all things sports and his commitment to his family and friends.
Dick followed in his father's footsteps by earning his degree from Purdue University's Pharmacy School, an accomplishment that also cemented his lifelong status as a proud and devoted Boilermaker fan. He owned Mill's Pharmacy in Hope, Indiana, and later became a partner in the family-founded Northside & Holiday Drugs pharmacies. Following the sale of these, he and Barbara moved to Beaver, Pennsylvania for Barbara's career. While there, he worked for CVS from 1994 until retiring in 2006.
Dick and Barbara were married in 1984 beginning a partnership that spanned decades. Together, they created cherished memories and shared adventures, especially after moving to The Villages, Florida in 2007. Retirement in The Villages brought Dick immense joy, offering him daily opportunities to indulge in his favorite pastimes—golfing and fishing.
Dick is survived by his loving wife Barbara; and his sons Robb (Chris Braun) Bonebrake, Todd (Vanita Bratcher) Bonebrake, and Trent (Angie) Bonebrake; his brother Jack (Gini) Bonebrake; and several nieces; and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents William and Lucille; as well as his sister Judy (Dean) Eddy.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Instead, honor Dick's memory by enjoying his favorite activities—drinking a Martini, hitting the fairways, betting on the ponies, or casting a line into serene waters. He believed in celebrating life through simple pleasures. And of course, in true Boilermaker spirit, remember to always "Boiler Up!" In memory of Dick, the family asks you to please make contributions to Cornerstone Hospice . Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.
