On September 23, 2020, Richard L. Cruce, Sr. departed from this earth to be with his heavenly Father. Born in Ventura, California on August 15, 1962 to Herman L. Cruce of St. Pete and the Late Bertha L. Alford. Richard was an avid Gator fan. He loved Family, Fishing and watching his beloved Gators play football. He loved working outdoors and working for Edwards Construction of Ocala for 30 years. He worked his way up to a superintendent, traveling with his job to many places. Richard had a wonderful personality, often with no filter, which is why everyone loved him. If he thought it, he said it. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 34 years, Tina of Dunnellon. His daughter Christy Dollyhigh (Starke) and his son Richard Cruce Jr (Taylor) of Jacksonville. His sister, Brenda Knighten (James) of Dunnellon, A brother Jerry Collier of Silver Springs, his younger sister Tanya Hamilton of Silver Springs and his father Herman Cruce of St Pete and three amazing grandchildren Danielle Ford, Ashlyn Ford and John W. Ford, III all of Starke and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at their home, 19626 SW Lark Dr. Dunnellon, Florida at 1pm.Everyone is welcome and as you know Richard was not fancy, so dress is casual. Wear your Gator Gear as it is a game day.
