Richard Howard Cuddeback, 83, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Auburn and Skaneateles, New York, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida. He was born on March 31, 1943, in Auburn, New York. 

Richard graduated from Moravia High School in 1961. He spent many years operating the Cuddeback Family Farm, a multigenerational family enterprise, before beginning a 32-year career as a correctional officer at Auburn Correctional Facility. He was especially proud of his service there, from 1970 until his retirement in 2002. 

An avid outdoorsman, Richard loved hunting and fishing, taking annual trips on the Great Lakes with his lifelong friends Billy, Bob, Mike, and Denny. After retiring, he began wintering in Florida and later moved to Leesburg, ultimately becoming a full-time resident with his wife, Mary, in 2026. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Mark (Judy), Roxanne (Ken), and Jeff (Michelle); his stepson, Chris Nash (Kelley); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Helen Cuddeback; his brother, Stephen; his first wife, Arlene; and his second wife, Ursula. 

A celebration of life will be held on September 5, 2026, in West Niles, New York.
