Obituary

Richard J. DiCara (Deco) passed away on September 6, 2024 after being hospitalized for three months. He was 80 years old. For the past five years, he lived happily in Florida, away from the cold North, as he desired. He was the son of the late Anna (Korritchukowa) and Leo DiCara. Originally, he was from the Bronx, New York. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie DiCara and son, Andrew DiCara.

Richard had a Masters Degree from Tufts University in Medford, MA. He was a Computer Science Professor at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, MA for 29 years.

In his life, he loved traveling out West in the U.S. to many of the magnificent National Parks. He was a nature lover and fond of beautiful mountainous scenery. Richard cherished all animals but especially our cats, Herbie and Felix. His choice music was from the 50's and 60's. Since living in Florida, he would dance by himself, "like no one was watching", at the town square music nights. Back in the day, racing his 57 Chevy, at the Long Island race track in New York, was his passion.

He is survived by loving nieces and nephews. David and Tammy DiCara, JoeWillie and Dani Feola, Thomas and Melissa Feola and Jacqueline Feola. Great nieces and nephews: Michael Verbasco, Danielle, Thomas and Taylor Feola and James, Tiffany and Haley O'Connor. All originally from New York.

He will be sadly missed.
