Richard Antonio Galipeau, 72, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Vernon CT and previously from Hartford CT, transitioned peacefully from this life, on June 9th, 2024.
Born and raised in Hartford, CT, he resided most of his life Vernon, CT while raising his family. He moved to Fort Myers in 2006.
Richard was a member of U.S Air Force where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War as a medic. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Hartford CT, and a long-time member of the American Lung Association. He worked in the medical field most of his life, as a respiratory therapist and later founding several successful business's specializing in medical equipment supply. He loved to read the Bible and had a strong, unwavering faith in God. His proudest accomplishment in life were his three children. He was generous man donating to many charities during his lifetime and always lending a helping hand. His sense of humor was infectious, and he brought joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Whaley of Vernon CT, Deanna Galipeau of Griswold, CT and his son Derrick Galipeau and his wife Samantha of Windsor CT, six grandchildren, Malik Tate, Gianna Galipeau-Dill, Jory Antonio Whaley, Caius Galipeau, Theodin Galipeau and Rhonin Galipeau, one great-grandson, Ezekiel Tate, all of CT, his ex-wife, Lynne Galipeau of Bradenton FL, two sisters, Lindalee Schuett of NE, Jeanette Morin of Titusville, FL, step-sister Ginette Loura and her husband Luis of Vernon, CT, his very special kitty, Terry and a host of other nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Richard was pre-deceased by his mother and stepfather, Dora and Euclide Gendreau, his father Valmore Galipeau, his first wife Jo-Anne Costa, his sister Anita Davis and her husband Del, his brother Robert Galipeau and his very special uncle and godfather Antonio Galipeau.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 29 from 4-6 p.m. at Baldwin Brothers (East Colonial Location) 4320 Colonial Blvd FT. Myers FL 33966.
