Obituary

Richard D. Green, known affectionately as Dick or Rich, was born on October 9, 1941, in Oswego, NY, and passed away on October 25, 2024, in Leesburg, FL. He is remembered as a humble and quiet man who dedicated his life to his family and his Savior.

Richard was a devoted husband, celebrating 49 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Pamela (Shaver) Green. Together, they raised three children: Marshall (Shannon) Green, Alana (Brian) Gruss, and Ethan (Lindsay) Green. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Sharon, Emily, Seth, Johanna, Jackson, Claire, Cooper, and Hudson, who brought him immense joy.

A man of many talents, Richard enjoyed painting, leatherwork, woodworking, carving, and beekeeping. His creative pursuits were surpassed only by his commitment to his ministry, which spanned over 40 years. He earned dual master's degrees in divinity and education, teaching in schools across New York and in Wyoming, pastored churches in Illinois, Kansas, and North Carolina, and spent 20 years as a church-planting missionary in Washington through the Gospel Preacher Association.

Richard is survived by his loving family, including his sisters Judy (Bob) Anthony, Pat (Tommy) Smith, and Marcia (Ron) Priest, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Alice (Peck) Green.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Eustis, FL on November 23, 2024, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the Missions Fund at Victory Baptist Church, 1309 N. County Road 452, Eustis, FL 32726.
