Richard C. Hill, 87, of Port Orange FL., who spent his childhood and much of his adult life in Syracuse NY, died in hospice care on November 22 after a long illness.

Richard was born in Syracuse March 1, 1937, to Earl and Beatrice (Horton) Hill. He graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy, was proud to have served in active and reserve duty with the United States Marine Corps, and worked for BR Johnson and Pella Windows and Doors for more than 25 years before retiring in 1991.

He was married to Carolyn (Leaf) Hill for 37 years until her death in 1997 and later remarried. He is survived by son Robert Hill; daughter in law Jennifer Hill; daughter Christine Hill; grandchildren James (Moira) Hill, Tyler (Megan) Hill and Elizabeth Hill; great grandchildren Kathleen, Maeve, Jude and Chloe Hill; sister Sue Elwood and sister-in-law Joanne (Leaf) Ranz; plus several nieces and nephews.

Richard had a second home in the Adirondack Park village of Schroon Lake NY, where he will be buried alongside Carolyn in Severance Cemetery.
