Richard Lee Hubbard, 82, of Fort Myers, passed away on October 12, 2023, at Gulf Coast Medical Center, in Fort Myers, FL. Born July 31, 1941 in Rocky Mount, VA., he was the son of Albert Curtis Hubbard and Evelyn Hodges.

Richard was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Rita Silvers Hubbard. Richard is survived by his two children, Rich Hubbard of Bonita Springs, FL., and Robyn (Robert) Fredeen of Naples, FL., his three grandsons, Randy Hubbard, Talon Hamm, and Chayton Hamm, his step-grandchildren, Justin Fredeen, and Emily Close, his brother, Albert Curtis, A.C. (Pauline) Hubbard, nieces Kristi Groff and Kim Greer and nephew Greg Hubbard.

Richard will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving and patient father and "Papa". He was the calmest soul with the best sense of humor. He was a strong family leader who loved everyone. Amongst his many hobbies and interests throughout his life were watching Virginia Tech sports, playing golf, coaching sports and watching his grandson play baseball.

A private family celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks.
