IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard (Dick)
Jack Wallace
December 27, 1935 – November 22, 2023
Richard Jack Wallace
Richard (Dick) Jack Wallace, age 87, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 22nd 2023. Beloved husband of Kathleen Wallace for 61 years, cherished father of Christopher Wallace (Susan) and (the late) Courtney Wallace. Brother of (the late) Beverly Hanson (Leroy) and (the late) Gerald Wallace.
Richard was born on December 27th, 1935 to (the late) John William and (the late) Hemmy Linnea Wallace in Elmhurst Illinois. He served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer which included a 12-month tour of duty in Japan. He was awarded a medal for Good Conduct and honorably discharged in 1958. Afterwards, he traveled the country driving a truck for Ready-Mix USA and worked at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Fuller-Metz Funeral Home in Cape Coral before retiring.
Dick was a gifted craftsman and a firearm enthusiast. He collected many guns over the years and was a very sharp shooter. In his younger years, if he wasn't at the range enjoying target practice, he could be found outdoors fishing, hunting or in his home shop building beautiful birdhouses and designing handmade wooden gun grips. He took pride in outfitting most of the Cape Coral Police Department with custom gun grips, which they loved. Dick had a great sense of humor, he loved muscle cars, animals and playing cards with his family.
Per Dick's request, there will not be a public memorial service. In lieu of sending flowers, contributions may be made to a military veteran organization or a local animal shelter, both causes he was passionate about.
